Portland Trailblazers Land Andre Miller, Remain Distant Underdogs

As exciting as it is to bring in a mature Andre Miller to Portland, this team will unfortunately only go as far as Greg Oden can take them. The fear for Portland is that Brandon Roy, who can enter restricted free-agency in 2010, could choose to bolt the Northwest if he chooses.

Odom Stays with Championship Favored L.A. Lakers

Well that was a lot of talk for nothing! After months of rumors and speculation, the Lakers were able to retain the services of one of their superstars by signing Lamar Odom to a reported 4-year, $33 million contract. The contract is essentially a three-year deal, with a fourth year as a team option.

Andrea Bargnani won’t be the only Italian Stallion on the Toronto Raptors anymore. The Raptors shipped newly acquired Devean George, who Toronto received in the mega deal that shipped Shawn Marion to Dallas and allowed the Raps to sign Turkoglu, to Golden State in exchange. It’s not the biggest move, but it proves that Toronto is still looking to the future.

NBA Trade Update – Okafor to New Orleans for Chandler

The New Orleans Hornets tried moving Tyson Chandler to a promising situation in Oklahoma City at the deadline. When Chandler botched the physical (supposedly intentionally), the Hornets were forced to retain him and his inflated $11.8 million salary.
